“Damn vegans! They’re winning!”
This was one of the comments on a Facebook post which was about the plant-based options available in a local food festival. I chuckled to myself when I read this, not only because it made me happy, but also because they got it all wrong. If you think vegans are winning, you are not right at all. To begin with, we can eat vegan food at almost any restaurant. Water and fries cuts the deal, and we can always go home and cook ourselves a sumptuous meal. Also, we are not just vegan for food or eating; it’s because we chose a lifestyle that would do ‘less harm’ for the animals, the planet and ourselves.
A few decades ago, things were not the same as it were today. There were no ‘pride parades’, there was no ‘equality in the workplace’ and there were no ‘common restrooms for people of different races, forget genders’.
