Why I Would Never Settle for Just Someone Even Though Society Wants Me To

The feeling of getting old is real, once you cross the age of 25. When I was still in high school or university, a 30-year old person seemed old to me. But as I am nearing that 30-mark, I look back and realize that I have achieved a few things I wanted to. I may have been late on schedule, but I’m glad I made it happen.

However, there is something that I did not accomplish. Though I am a nerdy introvert who loves traveling and keeps my friend circle in real life very small, I never saw myself being single when I was 28.

Being single, especially as a millenial, being the most overeducated and underpaid generation in history is frustrating sometimes. There are times when I’ve felt that life could have been better if I had found that special someone. Then again, when I look back at my life, I realize that there was nothing I could do, because I couldn’t just settle for someone else.
