Veganizing — The Art of Copying Recreating Culinary Delights, Minus the Cruelty

Cooking in an art, they say. Well, I am sure it is, but I am also sure that anyone could cook. I started cooking some two years back, but before that, when I lived with my parents, my mom cooked and I ate all of it.

Five years back, I decided to go vegan for many reasons, mostly ethical ones. I’ve never looked back and a vegan lifestyle has improved my health and productivity tremendously.

“But vegan food is boring!”

I’ve never missed anything since I went vegan, thanks to my ‘veganizing’ skills. Technically, that is a term. Initially, I had been doing this for sometime before I realized there was a word that explained it.

Throwback to When I First Veganized a Dish

“This Raita Tastes Good!”

Growing up in India, Biryani was one of our favourite dishes. It was made with basmati rice and meat or vegetables, mixed in a sauce made of onions, garlic and many spices. Along with biryani, we had a side-dish called raita, which was made of curd (yoghurt) and thinly sliced or chopped red onions.

5 years back in India, vegetarianism was very popular, but veganism was not. We could not walk into a supermarket and buy textured vegan protein…
