Member-only story
Since my second year of University during my bachelors, I had been living alone till date. I have moved different places, countries, and even continents, but living by myself is the best decision I made till date. Of course, the only people I would share my home with would be my partner for life, if I find one; or my adopted animal babies!
But I once said ‘no’ to roommates or even housemates, and that has always been a no for me. Most people do not recommend living alone, and popular opinion is that the ones who live by themselves are loners, usually sad and depressed. Contrary to popular belief, I found many good reasons to live alone.
Peace of Mind
Living alone is costly when it comes to money. On top of all that, buying a house, paying your mortgage and bills on top of the other things requires a lot of sacrifice. But when you come home after a long day’s work, walking into a clean house with a clean kitchen and silence is the best part. Guess if there was someone living with you who didn’t clean up after themselves in the kitchen and is blaring music you hate on their speakers: I’d rather pay more money for that!
